Here's some pictures of the Stedman. The banjo is based on the woodcut that appears in his [Stedman's] book, Narrative of a Five Years Expedition against the Revolted Negroes of Surinam. The banjo dates to the mid 1770's. Overall length: 42" Gourd: 14" X 9", 4 1/2" deep Neck: Mahogany (no fingerboard) Head: Goatskin 3 long strings, 1 short ebony nut maple bridge
