This is a 4-string banjo I made, again using Australian Gum for the neck, and a smaller gourd. I used a fairly square shape for the neck - this provides a little more to "hold on to" at the nut. This aspect is overemphasized in one of the photos. I used a scale of 26 inches and made the headstock a little smaller because of the size of the wood that I had. This is a really nice sounding gourd. The tuning I use most would be like the standard G tuning without the "B" string (gDGD), except I tune it a little lower. This resonates well with family members.
